each semester, latenite produces an anthology of student-written and student-directed scenes. late at nite, bossy and orderly brain cells go to bed and dreams (and nightmares) take over. our playwrights, directors, and actors embrace imagination, quirk, and all the unpursued what-ifs that arise throughout the creative process. the whimsical and unexpected exists in us all, so all are welcome to submit their plays, interview to direct, and audition to act, regardless of previous comedy or theatre experience.

direct // act
new and experienced actors and directors collaborate throughout the semester, bringing their own ideas to our anthology of sketches. once a week, we hold a one hour group rehearsal where sketches receive feedback from the rest of our members. each sketch will also meet individually once a week to rehearse. directing interviews and acting auditions typically take place during the first few weeks of the semester. no special preparation needed. just arrive 5-10 minutes early, bring your excitement, and be bold! our fall 2024 anthology is currently in rehearsals, but check back in january for updates about our spring 2025 anthology.
